Welcome to our 16th season! This year we are honored to present music from the great American songbook in tribute to our country’s 250th anniversary. Our fourth annual traditional Holiday/Christmas concert with brass always inspires a crowd, and in the spring, we return to the classics. Come celebrate with us an inspiring season of music.

Although most of the fireworks have faded, we wanted to offer one more opportunity to celebrateAmerica’s 250th anniversary through music.
Chorale and orchestra will present various “snapshots” of places and peoples,
reminders of struggles and heritage through the songs of America.
Familiar folksongs and hymns are woven into a fabric that includes
American greats, Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein,
as well as contemporary composers, Caroline Shaw, Eric Whitaker, and Jake Runestad.
Come join the Chorale in singing America the Beautiful;
listen to the singing of a thunderstorm in Yosemite;
float down the wide Missouri;
reflect on a Frost poem;
revel in a frontier square-dance – be a part of the celebration.

In our fourth year at Holy Spirit with the Kentucky Brass,
our Holiday/Christmas concert has become a regular part of the season for
so many of our patrons and their families.
One of the unique attractions is the opportunity to sing along on the carols.
There is nothing like flinging your voice into the euphonic swell of a full chorus,
brass choir, organ and more than 500 audience participants singing in the season.
Our family friendly concert will involve children of all ages in a
holiday favorite, and the Chorale will perform their traditional festive processional
along with great classical repertoire for brass and choir.

In the history of classical music, it would be challenging to think of any more iconic names
than Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms. The Chorale and orchestra will present a mythological journey, an opera overture, and a mass setting.
Brahms Nänie is an exquisite setting of Schiller’s poem featuring three mythological stories about the gods and fading beauty.
Mozart’s archetypal overture to Die Zauberflöte features our outstanding orchestra and provides a breath of perfect balance and harmony.
Standing in the shadows of his extraordinary Missa Solemnis, Beethoven’s Mass in C, is often less known. Yet its content remains quintessential Beethoven with all the power, dramatic expression, and soloistic properties that place him at the pinnacle of classic/romantic intersections.
